BLACKBURN AND KINELLAR
MEN’S SHED
The recently formed Men’s Shed is quickly taking shape, with weekly meetings now being held in Kinellar Community Centre. Open to men over 18, the group offers a friendly and inclusive space where members can socialise, share skills, and work on projects that benefit both themselves and the local communities of Blackburn, Kinellar, and the surrounding area.
While the formalities of setting up the group are still underway, members have already been busy with a growing number of local projects.
Recent activities have included helping with grounds maintenance at the Community Centre, removing old floor tiles in the entrance area in preparation for new flooring, and clearing broken branches in a local park following the recent storm.
Looking ahead, the group is focused on securing a permanent base with workshop facilities, providing space for members to meet and carry out a variety of projects.
The Shed is also keen to ensure that its activities complement, rather than compete with, local businesses. With that in mind, the group is eager to build positive links with local enterprises, with the aim of fostering mutually beneficial cooperation.
